I. Cultural guided tours (free tours)


The Ministry of Culture and Sports is organizing again this year from May 25 to 28 throughout the country, the communication activity "Green Cultural Routes" with a number of events for the general public and the student community. Entry to the events is free for participants


1. Heraklion


The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion organises the thematic guided tour "The world of nature at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion", i.e. a tour of the world of animals, as reflected in selected exhibits of the Museum. [in Greek]

2. Lassithi

The Ephorate of Marine Antiquities (Office of Marine Antiquities of Crete) organises guided tour from the point of Alykes od Elounda, in Poros, to the Gulf of Kolokytha, where the remains of a proto-Byzantine basilica can be found, part of which has been disintegrated by the action of the waves. The route combines the cultural with the incomparable natural environment of Eastern Crete and the Cretan Sea, while on the route many elements of traditional structures are visible (drystone walls, threshing floors, caldherimia, etc.). 3. Rethymno

Ephorate of Antiquities of Rethymno the Ephorate of Antiquities of Rethymno organizes a visit to monuments in the province of Amari: the church of Panagia Kera in Neis Amari, the church of Michael the Archangel in Monastiraki, the Minoan settlement in Monastiraki and the early Christian basilica of Byzari.

The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chania organizes a guided tour of the church of Christ the Saviour, one of the most important monuments of the village of Meskla. II. Wine tasting (free entrance)


On Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28, from 11:00 to 19:00, wine lovers will have the opportunity to explore the Wine Routes of Crete and participate in a variety of activities, which include guided tours, tastings, contests with rich prizes and other surprises. Entry to the wineries on these two days will be free.
