6+2 events to attend in Crete under the August Full Moon

Every year, for 22 years, the August Full Moon has been related with the opening to the public of numerous archaeological sites and museums in Greece during the night, admission free. Moreover in specific sites and museums cultural events are taking place.

This year, on Friday, August 12th, 105 archaeological and historical sites, monuments and museums across the country will welcome the public under the light of the Full Moon and events will be hosted in 50 of these places. More events are added in specific places on the next days.

Friday, August 12, 2022:

1. Archaeological Site of Rocca, Kissamos, Chania.

Giortes Rokkas 2022: "Lighting up tomorrow". Concert by Evanthia Reboutsika under the Full Moon.

20:30 - 23:30.


2. Archaeological Site of the Late Minoan Cemetery of Armeni, Rethymno.

A music performance with Piano and two voices

23:00.


3. Archaeological Site of Gortys, Heraklion.

The Minor of the Dawn (tribute to Vassilis Tsitsanis). Music event in collaboration with the Network of Cultural Associations of Messara.

21:00 - 23:00.


4. Tylissos, Heraklion.

Jazz music night dedicated to Costas Kouvidis

21:00 - 24:00.


5. Archaeological Museum of Heraklion (Garden).

Video screening of the concert "IONIAN. Love songs in times of refugees", for vocal duet, choir and small orchestra, at the garden of the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. Composed by Dimitris Sphakianakis. Performed by Chroes Group.

21:00 - 24:00


6. Malia, Heraklion.

"Concert Tribute to Iakovos Kampanellis"

(Singer: Kostas Makedonas). Co-organization with the Municipality of Hersonissos.
